After weeks of leaks and rumors, an exclusive report states that the Intel Battlemage GPU launch will happen in a couple of weeks. According to VideoCardz Intel is planning an official announcement for its next generation of discreet Arc graphics cards on December 3 when it will reveal details for the Arc B570 and Arc B580.

Per report:

  • Next week, Intel will reveal its plans for the discreet GPU series codenamed Battlemage. The first models to launch from the new Xe2-HPG-based series are the B580 and B570, as confirmed by Intel to its partners.”

The Intel Battlemage GPU launch is said to happen on December 12 and while no official pricing has yet to be announced leaks from earlier this week suggest a price point for the Arc B580 at ~$250. If accurate this could see the new Xe2-based GPU facing off against the NVIDIA RTX 4060 and AMD Radeon RX 7600. According to the report reviews for Intel’s limited edition reference models will go live same day as launch with reviews for AIB partner custom cards then next day.

Rumored specs for the Arc B580 show it having 20 Xe2-Cores at a clock rate of 2.8 GHz with 12 GB GDDR6 memory with a bandwidth of 456 GB/s on a 192-bit bus. If accurate, the B580 could compete very favorably against NVIDIA’s and AMD’s budget cards for less and do more. The B570 is rumored to have 18 Xe2 cores but not much else is known about it, yet. Both cards are said to support the PCIe 5.0×8.

Battlemage is Next

Intel’s master class technology series of “Graphics on the Go” videos is currently focusing on Architecture All Access covering topics such as IP insights, live sessions covering Lunar Lake technology, and educational content for usage models. The latest episode hosted by Intel Fellow Tom “TAP” Petersen, from two days ago, had a planned tease at the very end where Tom announced that Battlemage would be next.

Meanwhile, Intel’s first flagship GPU, featuring 16 GB 256-bit GDDR6 memory can currently be had for nearly half off for Black Friday. Despite being a part of Intel’s first gen of Arc graphics the Arc 770 performed admirably in reviews and thanks to ongoing driver support, has had significant performance improvements since being released.
